Since a few clients have asked, here is a little info on essential oils and my Young Living membership. Yes, I do have a membership, but no, I do not run a YL business, and you should know upfront that I am not a salesy person. I have always been put off by the potential salesy side of businesses like this, which is why I stayed away from membership for so long. But after signing up, I have found that I can simply choose how I go about using my account, and there has not been a lot of pressure from other members in my group to buy all the things.
If my clients are interested in using essential oils for their birth, I can provide information about the various oils recommended for pregnancy/labor/postpartum, and I am happy to utilize them during your birth when you hire me as a doula. I do not provide the oils, but you are welcome to use your own, and I do offer the option to purchase some through me, or you are welcome to enroll under me. I have found oils to be greatly beneficial in my own births, and several of my clients enjoy using them for theirs.
Of course, that isn’t the only use for essential oils. Some are good for affecting your mood, instilling peace and calm, or happiness and joy. Oils are also good for setting the atmosphere and ambiance for something like a date or dinner, so similar to how pheromones attraction works, sans the pheromones. Oils can be diffused in the air or added to soaps and candles, so there’s plenty of ways to use them.
What commitments are involved with signing up? Under my sponsorship, I seek to keep your experience harassment-free; I will not nag you to buy products on a regular basis, nor will I spam you with continuous texts/emails about all the deals available etc. I am currently enrolled in the YL monthly Essential Rewards program (where I purchase at least 50 points worth of oils per month in order to collect points that I can redeem toward other products), but there is no pressure to commit to this program when signing up, and I can revert to ordering less frequently at any time. When you sign up, you can simply purchase a starter kit, and then buy as you have the need/desire, and you will still receive a significant discount on their products.
To be honest, Young Living is not the only essential oil brand I use. For example, there is a skin clarity blend from Panarom that I absolutely love!! But for general health and wellness purposes, after trying a handful of other essential oil brands, I concluded that Young Living seems to offer the best quality.
One of my biggest draws to it has been how much it has helped improve some health issues my family has faced. (And I am happy to share more regarding our personal experience to those who seek to know.) But, I am not a die-hard, YL always and only supporter; I recommend finding something that works best for you, quality, and cost-wise.
The Starter Kits begin at $35, and go up to $250. You can choose whichever kit you wish to purchase to be enrolled. (My favorite is the Premium Starter Kit with the Desert Mist Diffuser, for $165, valued at over $300. See below.)
